Privacy policy
Last updated: August 2026
DeviceCheck is a set of browser tools that test hardware. The short version of this policy is that the tests run on your own device and the things they capture never leave it.
What the tests do with your data
The microphone, webcam, keyboard, speaker, display, and refresh rate tests all run entirely in your browser using standard web APIs. Audio, video, photos, and keystrokes are held in your browser's memory for as long as the test is open and are discarded when you delete them or close the tab.
- Nothing you record is uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- There is no server that stores recordings, because there is no server involved in the tests at all.
- Downloads are generated locally by your browser and saved directly to your device.
- Camera and microphone access is requested by your browser, granted by you, and released when you stop the test.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and uses no browser storage of its own.
Analytics
Our host, Cloudflare, records standard server request logs and aggregate traffic counts as part of delivering the site. These are anonymous aggregate figures such as page views and country, and are not used to identify individuals.
Third parties
The site currently loads no third-party scripts, fonts, trackers, or advertising. If that changes in future, this page will be updated before the change goes live, and it will name what was added and what it collects.
Children
These tools are general purpose utilities and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect information.
Your rights
Data protection laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, and delete personal data held about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to request. If you believe otherwise, contact us and we will look into it.
