Press each key. Green means it registered. Grey at the end means it did not.
Buying a used laptop?
Run this before you hand over money. Press every key in sequence and watch the tested counter climb — a seller cannot hide a dead key from it. Pay particular attention to the arrow cluster, the space bar corners, and the shift keys, which wear out first.

How do I test my keyboard?
Press every key one at a time. Each key turns orange while held and green once it has registered. Any key still grey at the end is not reaching the browser.
A key stays lit after I let go. Is it stuck?
Yes, that is a stuck key. The browser received the key down but never the key up, which usually means debris under the switch or a failing key.
Does this work with an AZERTY or QWERTZ keyboard?
Yes. The test reads the physical key position rather than the printed character, so the layout on your keyboard does not matter.
Why did nothing happen when I pressed a key?
Click once anywhere on the page first so it has keyboard focus. If a key still does nothing, that key is not registering.
